A great day arranged by David spent along Southend seafront collecting rubbish from the beach.
Approximately 10-12 full bags, mainly plastic, were collected by Divemania members and customers, their families, friends and even some passing tourists!
We started the day with a cooked breakfast at Toby Carvery in Thorpe Bay, then headed towards Southend Pier. We stopped for drinks halfway and ended with ice cream from Rossi's!
For those of you who have already completed the PADI Project Aware course, you will have learnt about some of the threats our ocean planet faces and how we, as divers, are the natural ambassadors to protect the aquatic realm. Today, without much effort or hardship, we made a small dent in reducing the plastic pollution and had a positive impact on our local environment.
Thank you to everyone who took part and David hopes to organise another clean-up in a few months' time.
