As an experienced instructor holding the Master Scuba Diver Trainer rating, you are eligible to enroll on the IDC Staff Instructor course. In a similar way that entry-level students look up to their Divemasters, IDC candidates look up to Staff Instructors for support and guidance throughout their course.

IDC Staff Instructors assist with instructor training and share their wisdom and experience to shape the next generation of PADI Professionals.

After an assessment of your instructor-level knowledge of dive theory, exemplary dive skill demonstrations and role-model presentation techniques, you’ll cover 4 main topics:

Instructor development standards, procedures and curriculum
How to organise and conduct the PADI Assistant Instructor course
Psychology of evaluation and counselling
Evaluating knowledge development, confined water and open water teaching presentations

There are two ways to complete this course – 3 Day express or full IDC audit. The express option is by far the most popular and allows candidates to staff an IDC immediately after certification and start earning credits towards Master Instructor rating.
